For centuries, knowledge has been passed from one birthkeeper to the next through presence, reflection, and shared practice. This is how birthworkers have always learned, by walking beside those with lived experience, listening, practicing, and carrying forward what is timeless.

My own path has taken me from community births with traditional midwives to clinical research at the University of New Mexico, always devoted to understanding and honoring birth in all its forms. As the first midwife accepted into Johns Hopkins’ Master’s program in Medical Education, I have grounded my teaching in rigorous, evidence-based pedagogy. And as the co-owner of Europe’s largest doula school, I have guided and mentored more than 1,000 students, supporting them as they found their voice and strength in this work.

With my years of experience and my commitment to mentoring the next generation, it would be a honor to walk with you the ancient way of transmission, guidance and knowledge sharing.

Mentorship is where knowledge becomes wisdom

Why Working With Me

  • I have attended births at homes, birthing centres and at hospitals in Canada, Kenya and the USA as primary care provider. I have also practiced in the most remote areas of Northern Canada, of Cameroon, Uganda, and of Kenya where I lived one and off for the last 13 years. During my 20 + years of teaching experience. I have instructed nurses, doctors, midwives, traditional birth attendant and students of those fields.

Beyond my formal University program of 4 1/2 years in Primary Care Midwifery attended in Canada, I have a specialized graduate diploma in Clinical Global Health (tropical medicine) from the Université du Québec and earned an Undergraduate Degree in Psychology from the University of Montreal. I received a specialization from a year long program on child sexual abuse and I completed a Summer program from the University of Geneva in Global Health and Human Rights.

I graduated from Johns Hopkins University in Evidence-Based Teaching of Medicine for Health Professions and developed a Trauma-Informed Care curriculum to be implemented in obstetrical programs for my Capstone project. These efforts towards prevention are essential, as is accessible therapy for those who have already been injured. In response to that need, I graduated in 2023 with an Advanced Degree in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy at Naropa University and also had the distinguished opportunity to become MAPS / Lykos Educated Therapist as well as being trained by Janine Fisher, PhD.

I was a lead clinical consultant education director for the maternal and newborn health program in Kenya. I was Faculty with The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of the UK with whom I taught Obstetric Emergencies and Fistula Prevention in Uganda and I am part of a team of health practitioners who provide education and clitoral reconstructive surgery for women who underwent Female Genital Mutilation. I was Faculty in the Medical Department of the University of British Colombia. In 2012,

As co-founder of École Quantik Doula, I have trained over a thousand doulas around the world as our full-spectrum doula school quickly became the largest doula school for the French-speaking community.

Finally, I have graduate from Aviva Romm program in Functional and Integrative Medicine for Health Care Practitioner in 2019 and in her Herbal Medicine for Women program.

Having worked in remote areas and in traditional settings where access to emergency care was often not available, I got the opportunity to develop a balance practice between herbal medicine, traditional wisdom, strong manual skills, and allopathic medicine. I also had to develop an acute sense of preventive medicine where I believe the art of midwifery lies. My philosophy as a clinician and an educator is based on the premise that an evidence-based, women centred care not only preserves the dignity of women, but also the one of the practitioner.
